Water softener
Application
Water softener the ITG Sarajevo is applied
for softening of water, which is physically clear, and without mechanical impurities. It
is used for softening of boiler feed water in power plants, chemical and
textile industry, for cooling water, water heaters and there where softened water is
required.
Operation
Water softening is done by filtering,
through a water-insoluble layer of ion exchange resin, which has the ability to reversibly
exchange its ions with inorganic salt ions in water. Calcium and magnesium salts are
removed from water, because calcium and magnesium hydro carbonate are transformed into
sodium carbonate which is not deposited as a scale.
Design
Water softeners are manufactured in
standard dimensions, capacity goes from 0,5 m3/h up to 6 m3/h in 11
sizes and three designs as follows:
- filter and salt vessel as one unit
- S-design with a filter and salt vessel,
separately
- D-design with a two filters and salt vessel,
separately
Delivery of water softener also include
ion-exchange resin, internal piping, pipe fittings, water meter and mini laboratory for
water quality control.
Filters are dimensioned in such a way to
achieve optimum between the quantity of treated water and the time between two
regeneration. Vessels are made out of steel plate and are protected with an anticorrosive
coating.
Testing
Our water softeners are designed for
maximum pressure up to 6 bar, and are tested on 9 bar.
